Tigers Win Match at Tolona by One Stroke

The golfing action couldn’t have been any closer Tuesday afternoon at Tolona Country Club where the Scotland County Tigers won a quad meet by just one stroke.

SCR-I completed the match with a team score of 169 to just edge out South Shelby which finished at 170. The host team, Highland, was not far off that pace, scoring a 175 followed by Palmyra with a 180.

Scotland County’s Joe Spurgeon took the individual medalist honors, carding a 39. Matt Wickert and Kyle Lister each shot rounds of 42 for SCR-I which rounded out the team score with a 46.

The SCR-I junior varsity squad finished the event with a score of 191 led by Travis Trueblood and Colby Brown who both shot rounds of 46. Logan Trueblood carded a 49 followed by Dustin Roach with a 50 and Andy Cowell who shot a round of 53.
