Mark Trump Memorial Golf Tourney Set For August 20
The fifth annual Mark Trump Memorial Golf Tournament, public fish fry and children’s putting and driving contest will be held on Saturday, August 20, at the Twin Lakes Golf Course, Kahoka.
This year three applications were received from graduates pursuing a career in agriculture. They were Gregory E. Savage from Warsaw High School, Dena Eddleman and Joel E. DeRosear from Clark County R-1. In the last four years scholarships totaling $12,100 have been provided to 15 area students.
Scholarships in both agriculture and aeronautics are available to all area high school graduates. Contact your high school counselor or Harold or Marvis Trump for more information.
The funds for the scholarships are raised at the annual golf tournament held on the third Saturday of August. This year’s golfing fees are $50 per person for 18 holes of golf. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. with tee time at 9:00 a.m. You may bring your own team of four or interested singles will be combined with others. Last year 25 teams participated. Lunch is prepared by the Clark County Cattlemen and donations are given to the scholarship fund.
Following the tournament a fish fry is held for the general public and golfers beginning at 5:00 p.m. with a free-will offering.
This will be the third year for the Children’s Driving and Putting Contest, which is held at 6:00 p.m. for ages six through 12. There is no charge for this event.
