Lady Tigers Get Into Win Column at Brashear

It took a while for the Scotland County offense to show up in Brashear, but once the bats arrived it was all Lady Tigers as SCR-I scored five late runs to erase a 1-0 deficit and post a 5-2 victory.

The home team jumped on top in the second inning. The lone tally held up until the fifth inning when SCR-I tied the contest. Kirsten Johnston led off with a single and stole second base. A sacrifice by Lacey Jack sent her to third and she scored on a base hit by Jessica Bair.

The Lady Tigers put the game away in their next at bat. Deidra Dochterman walked to start the inning. Brandi Kapfer followed with a base hit. With two outs, Jack was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Ali Fromm then delivered a base knock to plate Dochterman and Kapfer. Bair then drove home two more runs with a triple to make the score 5-1.

Brashear added a run in the bottom of the frame before Karra Small closed the door on the rally. The junior hurler improved to 1-1 on the season. She allowed seven hits and walked none while striking out 14 batters.

Bair went 2-4 to pace the offense. Fromm was 1-1 and also worked out three walks. Dochterman and Johnston both went 1-3 and Valerie Oldham was 1-1 as a pinch hitter.
