Brookfield Bests Lady Tigers 4-3 in League Action

When it rains, it pours. The Scotland County softball team not only suffered through the lengthy bus ride to Brookfield and several rain delays but ultimately had insult added to injury as the Lady Tigers were handed a key 4-3 defeat by the Bulldogs that will shake up the Tri-Rivers Conference standings.

Brookfield wasted little time welcoming the Lady Tigers to town, jumping on the visiting team for three runs in the opening frame.

Scotland County finally got the bats working in the third inning. With two outs, Jamie Fuller and Ali Fromm each reached base with singles. Jessica Bair brought both runs home with a triple and she then scored on a wild pitch to tie the game at 3-3.

Brookfield regained the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning with a single run and SCR-I was unable to mount any more threats as the Bulldogs held on for the 4-3 win.

Karra Small took the loss for SCR-I. She allowed eight hits and walked one while striking out two.
