Midgets Shutout SCR-I 4-0 In Softball Action

Putnam County continues to be a nemesis for the SCR-I Lady Tigers softball team. The reigning state champions escaped from Memphis Thursday evening with a 4-0 victory over Scotland County.

The Lady Midgets jumped on top 1-0 in the first inning before both teams settled into a pitching dual between SCR-Iís Karra Small and Putnam Countyís Courtney Hatfield.

Hatfield got the better of the deal as she completed the seven-inning shutout.

Putnam County blew the game open with a three-run rally in the sixth inning to put the game out of reach.

The loss extends the Lady Tigersí losing streak to six straight games and sends the teamís record to 6-10 on the year and 1-4 in the Tri-Rivers Conference with league games remaining versus North Shelby and Schuyler County.
