SCR-I Junior High Softball Team Finishes Season With 10-4 Record

The Scotland County Junior High Softball team finished their season with a 10-4 record. They had wins over Knox, Schuyler, Canton, Brookfield, Putnam, North Shelby, and Milan. The team finished in third place at the Schuyler junior high tournament. That weekend they beat Brookfield and in extra innings beat Knox for third place.

This year Kelly Lister and Mickyla Mathews served as pitchers for the Lady Tigers. Ti Waibel was the catcher in most games but shared some duty with Aimee Dale when Dale was not playing third. Brooklynne Simpson, Elizabeth Small, Jamie Shaw and Skylar Alderton all found time in the infield. Jessica Sites, Ashley Tague, Ashley Westhoff, Augusta Purvis and Shelby Westhoff all played various outfield positions.

Over the season the Lady Tigers worked on their fundamentals and became one of the best hitting and fielding junior high teams in this area. Many opposing coaches commented on how well the Lady Tigers hit the softball. The last three games of the year the Lady Tigers only committed two errors in those games.
