Candidates File For Local School Boards

Two local school board races will be on the April 4th election. Candidates have until January 17th to file for the Scotland County R-I Board of Education and the Gorin R-III School Board.

SCR-I voters currently have five candidates vying for two seats on the board. Incumbents Ellen Aylward and Gary Miller have both filed for re-election. They will be challenged by James Kice, Stacy Alexander and Stacy Westhoff.

The Gorin district has three seats available in the 2006 election. Incumbents Ed See and Christine Musgrove have filed for new three-year terms on the school board. Currently no one has filed for the one-year term for the seat vacated by Leon Shaw.
