Gorin Man Arrested On Drug Charges

A November search of a Gorin residence has led to the arrest of the property owner on drug charges. Dale Lee Darland, Jr., is facing numerous charges following his arrest on January 27th by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department.

Chief Deputy Brian Whitney indicated that Darland is facing charges of attempting to manufacture a controlled substance, a class A felony. He also is charged with the class C felony of possession of a controlled substance and a class A misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. Darland has been assigned a February 7th court date.

The arrest stemmed from a November 28th incident when a search warrant was served at Darland’s home in Gorin. Officers seized numerous items at the home on that date.

The sheriff’s department was assisted in the investigation by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the North Missouri Drug Task Force.
