Traffic Stop Nets Drug Bust In Memphis

A routine traffic stop in Memphis has a Kirksville man facing serious drug charges. Steven S. Huffman is facing a B felony charge of attempting to distribute/deliver a controlled substance and a D felony charge of possession with intent to sell or distribute drug paraphernalia.

At 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, April 16, Huffman’s vehicle was stopped on Highway 136 in Memphis for a traffic violation. An ensuing search of the vehicle revealed a large amount of marijuana, scales and drug paraphernalia.

According to Chief Deputy Brian Whitney, Huffman was transported to the Scotland County jail where he was booked on the felony charges as well as a misdemeanor charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held on $50,000 cash bond.
