Project Awarded for Bridge Rehab in Scotland County

HANNIBAL - A new deck will be constructed on the Foreman Branch Bridge on Route AA east of Memphis this summer. The new bridge deck will be 2 feet wider and will be strengthened to carry two lanes of traffic without load postings. New barrier curbs and guardrails will also be added to the approaches.

Route AA will be closed to traffic during the rehabilitation of the bridge with traffic detoured over County Road 519 during the closure.

The Highways and Transportation Commission awarded the project to Boone Construction Company of Columbia, for $214,636.68.

Work may begin after June 12th and is to be completed by August 18th. Though this is a Northeast District project, the inspection of the project will be handled by the Kirksville Project Office, which is in the North Central District.

For additional information about this project or other transportation issues, please call MoDOTís toll-free customer service number at 1-888-275-6636 or visit www.modot.org/northeast.
