MACC To Host Peanut Day In Memphis

If a person is under compensated, they are said to be paid peanuts. But on Saturday, June 17th peanuts are the chosen currency for folks in Memphis as the Memphis Area Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Peanut Day promotion on the Memphis city square.

Vendors will be stationed on all four corners of the square peddling bags of peanuts for 50 cents. While the tasty snack is worth the price, it is the hidden prize in each bag that drives most motorists to purchase several bags.

This year chamber members and area businesses have donated numerous prizes combined with MACC purchases. Two lucky bags will hold $50 savings bonds. Other prizes will include free archery sessions, a special edition Silver Eagle Coin, free swimming passes and much, much more.
