Two Schuyler County Teens Hurt In Crash

Two Schuyler County teens were injured in a one-vehicle accident in Scotland County at 10:50 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at the intersection of Route BB and Highway 15 north of Memphis.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Ryan E. Bushnell, 17, of Queen City, was driving a 1989 Ford F-150 pickup westbound on Route BB. The driver failed to stop at the stop sign and the truck traveled across Highway 15 and off the west side of the roadway and down a steep embankment before coming to rest in the ditch.

Bushnell and a passenger in the vehicle, Scott M. Buckallew, 17, of Lancaster, were extricated from the truck by the Scotland County Rescue Squad and Scotland County EMS personnel.

Bushnell sustained minor injuries and Buckallew suffered moderate injuries. Both men were transported by Scotland County Ambulance Service to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The accident is being investigated by the Highway Patrol. The Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, the ambulance service and the rescue squad assisted at the scene.
