VERLIN RAYMOND WILSON

Verlin Raymond Wilson, 79, of Canton, MO, passed away January 12, 2006, at Country Aire Retirement Estates near Lewistown, MO.

Verlin was born July 20, 1926, near Kahoka, MO, a son of Irvin F. and Bessie Mae Scovern Wilson.

Verlin attended Kahoka High School, Kahoka, MO, had been a State Farm Insurance agent for 44 years at Canton, MO, until his retirement. He had served as Municipal Judge at Canton for over 20 years, was a Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church at Canton, MO.

Verlin was married to Nancy Curtis, September 16, 1950, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Ft. Madison, IA. She survives as do three sons and their spouses, Samuel Wilson and Judy of Donnellson, IA, Curtis Wilson and Harla of Maywood, MO, and Mitch Wilson and Robin of Belton, MO; three daughters and their spouses, Kathy Danley and Marty of Ottumwa, IA, Claudia Morrow and Andy of Goodyear, AZ, and Wendy Wilson and Doug of Canton, MO; seven grandsons, Mark Danley, Jason Wilson, Caleb Morrow, Kristopher Moore, Daniel Moore, Mickeal Bean, and Will J. Wegener; six granddaughters, Alisha Loy, Keri Bean, Charity Hall, Carly and Lindsey Wilson, and Christen Wegener; one brother, Clifford Wilson and his wife, Lois of Wyaconda, MO; one sister, Mildred Howard and her husband, Vernon of Memphis, MO; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.

A prayer service was held January 13 at the Davis Funeral Home, Canton, MO.

Funeral services were held January 14, 2006, at St. Joseph Catholic Church at Canton, MO. Rev. Richard Frank officiating. Interment was held at Montrose Cemetery at Montrose, IA with Military Honors provided by Otto Bruner Post 170 American Legion at Canton, MO. Music was by Nan Wood. Pallbearers were Samuel Wilson, Curtis Wilson, Jason Wilson, Marty Danley, Doug Wilson, and Mark Danley. Suggested memorials may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or Country Aire Retirement Estates at Lewistown, MO.
