Maddlene Roberts, 90, of Kirksville, MO, passed away March 4, 2006, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.

The daughter of John Robert and Vina Mae (Dalton) Phillips, she was born July 21, 1915, in Greensburg, MO.

In Knox County, MO, Maddlene was united in marriage to Everett Roush, who preceded her in death. To this union, two children were born. She was united in marriage to Amos Roberts and he preceded her in death.

Maddlene was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; three brothers, Melvin, Louis and Floyd Phillips; one sister, Cleo Meline; and one, son, Junior Roush in infancy.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Olson of Marengo, IA; two grandchildren, Todd Fortney of Waterloo, IA and Trevor Olson of Marengo, IA; two great-grandchildren, Damien Butters of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Joseph Evans of Waverly, IA; one niece, Carolyn Peek and husband, Garnett of Kirksville, MO; three nephews, Charles Gragg and wife, Mary of Buckner, MO, Larry Phillips of Schertz, TX, and Donald Phillips of Marengo, IA, and several great-nieces and nephews.

Maddlene was reared in Greensburg, MO and attended school in Knox County, MO. While living in Memphis, MO, she was employed at the clothing factory and also worked at the Double D Motel. Maddlene was a life-long resident of Memphis, MO, moving to Kirksville, MO in 1994.

She was a member of the Christian Church in Greensburg, MO and attended the Oak Ridge Baptist Church. Maddlene will be missed by her family and friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, MO, officiated by Virgil Jones. Burial will follow the service in the Greensburg Cemetery in Greensburg, MO. Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Kirksville, MO is in charge of arrangements.
