Eighth Grade Boys Closing Out Season In Tourney

The Scotland County eighth grade boys basketball season will close out this week at the Schuyler County Tourney.

The year opened with a 48-27 loss to Clark County on October 31st. Kyle Shelley had 14 points in the losing effort.

The next night, SCR-I fell to Canton 26-21.

The team dropped a heartbreaker, 43-41 to Putnam County on November 3rd. Justin Winn and Jordan Fulk each had 10 points while Shelley and Brandon Garnett added nine points in the teamís best offensive game of the year.

The team suffered another tough loss just a few days later as Schuyler County beat SCR-I 33-32 despite eight points each from Garnett, Fulk and Shelley.

The team fell to 0-5 with a 36-23 defeat by Clark County on November 8th.

The Tigers got into the win column with a 39-31 victory over Milan behind 16 points from Shelley.

SCR-I fell to Putnam County 46-29 on November 17th despite 10 points from Garnett.

The Rams were able to sneak off with another close win over the Tigers, 36-33 on November 18th Shelley had 16 points and Fulk added 15 in the loss.

Three points was the difference on November 21st as North Shelby escaped with a 29-26 win over the Tigers despite 14 points from Shelley and three points from Trever Harris.

Knox County bested the Tigers 42-30 on December 1st. Shelley led the team with 16 points.

The third time was not the charm against the Rams, as Schuyler County beat SCR-I 41-22 on December 12th.

The team dropped to 1-11 with a 31-23 loss to Knox County on December 13th. Shelley had 11 points and Fulk had six points in the contest.
