Westran Continues SCR-Iís Tough Stretch of Schedule

A rough spot in the schedule continued for the Scotland County girlsí basketball team on Friday the 13th. SCR-I traveled to Westran to take on the 11-1 Lady Hornets. That marked the sixth straight contest against teams with winning records.

Westran improved to 12-1 with a 55-41 victory despite a strong effort by the Lady Tigers.

SCR-I trailed 15-12 after the first period and was able to remain in striking distance, down 33-29 at the break. Ali Fromm poured in 10 points in the second period to keep her team close.

The third period proved to be the difference as Scotland County came out of the locker room cold, scoring just four points in the crucial period allowing Westran to pull away to a 45-33 advantage.

The Lady Hornets sealed the victory by outscoring SCR-I 10-8 in the final period.

Fromm finished with 17 points to pace Scotland County (7-6). Jamie Fuller added 13 points. Westran had four players in double figures.
