Raiders Ruin Tigersí League Opener With 56-44 Defeat

A disappointing second half saw the Tri-Rivers Conference opener slip away from Scotland County as North Shelby pulled away for a 56-44 victory on January 24th in Memphis.

The Tigers jumped out to a 16-14 advantage after the first period as Matt Wickert poured in six points.

The Raiders heated up from behind the arc in the second quarter. North Shelby made four three pointers in the period to pull ahead 30-29 at halftime.

Brett Craigmyle kept firing away from three-point land as he drilled two more bombs in third period. The seniorís sharp shooting led North Shelby on a 14-7 run to blow the game open.

The Tigers never got on track offensively in the second period. SCR-I managed just 15 points over the gameís final 16 minutes.

North Shelby iced the game at the free-throw line. The team made all nine of its shots from the charity stripe in the second half to secure the 56-44 win.

Wickert finished with 13 points to lead Scotland County (4-11, 0-1). Bryce Blomme pitched in with 12 points and Cody Musgrove added 10 points.
