Tigers Play Tough In Return To Home Court

After two weeks on the road, the Scotland County boys basketball team looked at home in front of the Memphis crowd on February 7th when SCR-I blasted Milan 62-45 for the Tri-Rivers Conference victory.

The Tigers, who last played host on January 24th, were a little slow in adapting to their home-court advantage. The Wildcats actually led 9-8 at the end of the first period.

Matt Wickert did his best to defend the home ground in the second period as he poured in nine points as the Tigers rallied to lead 29-19 at halftime, courtesy of a 21-10 run in the second period.

The high-octane offense continued in the third period. SCR-I outscored Milan 20-12 as Grant Blomme scored seven points off the bench in the period.

Milan was unable to chip away at the 18-point margin as the two teams traded buckets in the final period.

Wickert led a balanced scoring attack for SCR-I with 14 points. Chris Humes added 12 points and Grant Blomme finished with 11. Bryce Blomme and Cody Musgrove each pitched in with nine points.

SCR-I improved to 5-13 on the season and 1-3 in league play.

Vance Profitt paced Milan (6-14, 0-4) with 20 points.
