Tigers Take Second In Junior High Campus Bowl Tourney

The host team had to settle for second place as Knox County knocked off the Tigers in the 36th Annual Scotland County Junior High Invitational Tournament on March 10th.

Scotland County opened the event with a 295-210 victory over Canton. Christina Duzan answered eight toss-up questions to top SCR-I. Kelly Lister had five answers.

Game #2 was a 330-235 win for the Tigers over North Shelby. Duzan again answered eight toss-up questions to pace the scoring. Zach Mallet answered six questions and Spencer Keller answered five.

Scotland County fell behind 50-10 in the first period of the championship game and was never able to erase the deficit as Knox County rolled to the 330-145 win. Mallett answered three toss-up questions for the Tigers.

North Shelby defeated Monroe City to win the third-place trophy.

Tyler Mudd of Monroe City answered an average of 12.6 toss-up questions to earn team captain honors for the all-bowl team. Ben Harder of Knox County finished with an 11.6 average while Joey Martz of Canton had a 7.5 average.

Also named to the team were Brett Bryant (7.0) of Knox County, Cody Ford (6.6) of Schuyler County, Dalton Ludwick (6.3) of Clark County, Zach Henderson (6.3) of North Shelby and Christina Duzan (5.6) of Scotland County.
