Tigers Golfers Take First At Keokuk Invitational

The Scotland County golf team opened the season in strong fashion, besting the six-team field at the annual Keokuk Invitational held April 1st.

SCR-I dominated the Ryder Cup format, winning two of the three events while finishing well in the individual contest as well.

Matt Wickert and Travis Trueblood played in a scramble format and shot a 76 to finish first in the contest. Kyle Lister and Zach McBee played together in the best-ball format and also finished first after scoring a 77.

Joe Spurgeon finished second in the individual competition with a round of 90. Marcus Shalley shot a 93 to complete the teamís score of 336.

Scotland County finished in first place, three strokes ahead of Fort Madison, IA, which shot a 339. Also competing in the event were West Liberty, Keokuk, Eddyville-Blakesburg and Keokuk Cardinal Stritch.
