Storm Damage Canít Stop Show-Me Races

Better late than never. That was what the huge host of 51 entries was thinking at Show-Me Speedway in Downing on Saturday, August 12th. The races got off to a late start after crews worked furiously to repair storm damage at the track from inclement weather earlier in the week.

The spectators enjoyed cooler temperatures and also were treated to a number of new faces on the track.

Ben Bolden took the checkered flag in the Rookie race. He held off #37 Joey Hagar and #01 Jeana Noel.

The Junior I feature race was won by #8 Rachel Shahan who topped #3 Tyler Griesbaum and #31B Brady Bowling.

The #3 kart of Tyler Griesbaum made it to victory lane in the Junior I Heavy feature. Autumn Elliott took second in the #14 followed by #66 Mike Hudson.

The Junior II race saw #11 Zach Hahn edge #56 Brittany Thelen and #36 Teresa Hagar.

Hahn made it two-in-a-row as he also won the Junior II Heavy feature ahead of #38 Seth Shahan and #9 Tyler Granneman.

Dusty Trail and the #7 kart were victorious in the Stock Lite main event. Second went to #93 Candice Hays with #32 Tyler Hagar in third.

The Stock Medium feature trophy went home with #02 Ashley Hutchinson who sped by #32 Tyler Hagar and #15 Kirk Hopkins.

Tracy Ellis capped off the night with an exciting win in the Masters feature race. The #17 kart held off #8 Tom Thelen and #4 Mike Thelen for the win.

The 50/50 winner was Loren Pippin from LaPlata for $79.50. The winner of the T-shirt was Lisa Tuggle also of LaPlata.

The next race will be August 26th with hot laps at 6:00 p.m. and races at 7:00 p.m. Pit passes are $8 but spectators in grandstands are free.
