Balanced Attack Leads SCR-I Past Brashear 66-57

A balanced scoring attack led Scotland County to a 66-57 win over Brashear in the third place game of the Novinger Tournament on December 2nd. In the third game of the year, SCR-I had its third leading scorer as Bryce Blomme paced the Tigers with 18 points.

Scotland County opened a 17-13 lead in the first period as freshman Kyle Shelley scored four early points in just his second varsity start.

But the offense went south in the second period as Cody Musgrove was shut down with foul trouble. Brashear took advantage of the SCR-I slow down to pull ahead 32-26 at halftime.

Musgrove and Bryce Blomme each had six points in the third quarter as the Tigers poured in 21 points in the eight-minute stretch to retake the lead 47-44.

Matt Wickert put the finishing touches on Brashear, scoring six points down the stretch to secure the 66-57 win. The senior finished with 17 points.

Grant Blomme contributed 10 points as SCR-I improved to 2-1 on the season.
