Highland Remains Perfect With 65-34 Win Over Tigers

Highland remained perfect on the early basketball season at the expense of the Scotland County program. The Cougars (6-0) handled the Tigers 65-34 in Saturday night boys’ basketball action at Highland.

Andy Anders had nine points in the first period as Highland jumped out to a 19-9 lead. The Cougars matched that effort in period two, outscoring SCR-I 19-8 to build a commanding 38-17 lead at the break.

Cody Musgrove poured in eight points in the third period for SCR-I but it wasn’t enough to slow the powerful Cougars’ offense. Highland used a 20-11 run in the third period to put the game away.

Matt Wickert led Scotland County (3-2) with 13 points. Musgrove finished with 12 points and Grant Blomme added seven.

Anders led Highland with 13 points as nine different Cougars made it into the scorebook.
