Taylor Egenberger is First Baby of 2007 at SCMH

Visiting the hospital this time of year is becoming common for Shirley Green. For the third time in her life, Shirley has entered Scotland County Memorial Hospital to see “her” first baby of the year.

“First it was my daughter, who was the first baby born in 1987,” she said. “The last two have been a lot easier for me, as they have been my grandchildren.”

Taylor Nikol Egenberger was born at 10:33 a.m. on January 3rd in the hospital’s new women’s center. The proud parents are Rob and Amber Egenberger of Memphis.

Amber is Shirley’s daughter. Shirley’s son, William and his wife were the parents of the first baby born in 2002 at SCMH, making this the third New Year baby for the family.

Taylor weighed in at 7 lbs. and 13 oz. and was 21 inches in length. She was delivered by Dr. Jeff Davis.

Grandparents are Shirley and Stanley Green of Memphis, Brenda Tinkle of Madrid, IA and John Egenberger of Des Moines, IA. Great-grandparents are Vivian and Lennie Doscher of Memphis and Red and Luella Tinkle of Memphis.

As the first baby of the new year, Taylor was showered with gifts from area donors including: Payne Funeral Chapel, Scotland County Lanes, Rose Hardware, Farm & Home, Don F. Harrison Insurance, J’s Foods, Community Bank of Memphis, Cook’s Mens Store, Beverly Moore Insurance Agency, Attorney Kimberly J. Nicoli, R.P.M., SCMH & SCCC Auxiliary, Memphis Auto & Truck Parts, and Countryside Flowers.
