Arbela Man Seriously Hurt In Accident

Winter weather was blamed for a two-vehicle accident Monday night that left an Arbela man with serious injuries.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the accident occurred at 10:45 p.m. February 12th on Highway 136 in Scotland County just west of the Clark County line.

Mark S. Robbins, 46, of Arbela was westbound in a 1991 Chevrolet and Tracey D. Baker, 41, of Kahoka was eastbound in a 1994 Chevrolet at the time of the crash. The vehicles collided nearly head-on on the snow-covered roadway.

Robbins suffered serious injuries and was transported to Scotland County Memorial Hospital by Scotland County Ambulance. He was later transported to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL.

Robbins was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

The Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland and Clark County sheriff’s departments, Gorin Fire and Rescue, first responders and the Scotland County Ambulance Service.

Both vehicles sustained extensive damage and were towed from the scene.
