Principals Receive Contract Extensions at Board Meeting

The Scotland County R-I Board of Education offered contract extensions to the districtís two principals during executive session of the February 9th meeting.

The board voted to extend the current contract for elementary school principal Rob Moore for an additional year.

High School principal Ken Cross was offered a three-year contract that would run through the 2009-2010 school year.

The board also accepted the resignation of Randi York, a special education instructor at the elementary school. York announced her retirement after 16 years with the district.

In other school news, the board of education approved the 2007-2008 NEMO-Net school calendar. Next year, classes will begin on August 20th, but the district will dismiss early on the first two days of school.
