Two Longtime SCR-I Educators Set To Retire

Two longtime educators in the Scotland County R-I School District announced on March 1st they would be calling it quits at the conclusion of the 2006-07 school year.

Elementary School Principal Rob Moore and Vo-Ag Instructor Bob Brown submitted letters of resignation that were read at a special meeting of the SCR-I Board of Education.

Moore has held his position as elementary school administrator for the past 25 years. He came to the district in 1982. This will mark his 38th year as an educator.

Brown has served the SCR-I district for 30 years as the Industrial Arts teacher.

Both resignations were accepted with regret by the board with a 5-0 vote.

The board voted to begin advertising the vacancies. Plans call for expansion of the vocational agriculture program to fill the position created with the resignation of Brown. The program is intended to reach into the junior high and high school.
