Former Scotland County Resident Facing Child Molestation Charges

A former Scotland County resident is being housed in the Clark County Jail following his arrest last week on a series of child molestation charges.

Wallace Gene Holt, 70, of Paris, MO, formerly of Arbela, was taken into custody in Monroe County on Friday, April 6th by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. He was picked up on three warrants from Scotland County.

Holt was transported to Memphis where he was arraigned in front of Judge Karl DeMarce on April 9th.

Holt faces a charge of sexual misconduct in the 1st degree (class A misdemeanor), five counts of child molestation in the first degree (class B felony), child molestation in the 1st degree (class C felony), and two counts of statutory sodomy in the 1st degree - deviate sexual intercourse with a minor under the age of 14 (class B felony).

The investigation was initiated by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Office before being turned over to the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT). The STAT team is assigned such cases through the Missouri Division of Family Services.

Following his arraignment, Holt was transported to the Clark County Jail where he is being held on $75,000 cash only bond.
