Two Teens Hurt In Crash Near Gorin

Two Scotland County girls were injured in a one-car accident on Route A in Scotland County at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24th.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 1998 Chevrolet driven by 17-year-old Deidra J. Blaine, of Memphis, was northbound on Route A, approximately 5 miles north of Gorin. The car ran off the road, struck an embankment and overturned.

Blaine sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown from the scene by Air Evac helicopter to University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia.

A passenger in the car, Rebecca C. Tague, 16, of Gorin, also sustained serious injuries. She was taken by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital.

The Highway Patrol was assisted at the scene by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department, the Gorin Fire Department, the Scotland County Fire & Rescue and the ambulance and helicopter services.
