Two Local Men Among April Lottery Winners

More than $12.4 million in prizes of $1,000 or more were awarded to Missouri Lottery players during April. Thousands of other prizes of less than $1,000 also were awarded during the month.

Winners of $1,000 or more in April included two Memphis men. Steve Downing and James Paris each had a $1,000 winning Scratchers ticket.

Matilda Taylor of Joplin was the big winner during April. She had the winning Lotto jackpot ticket worth an estimated $7.6 million.

Shirley Kowalewski of Columbia and Billy Waibel of Boonville each had $200,000 Powerball winners.

William VanNess of Seymour and Ronald Carson Jr. of Troy were $250,000 Scratchers winners and Rachel Britton of St. Louis had a $100,000 winning Scratcher ticket.
