Back to School Fair Set for August 3rd

As the month of July races on, it will not be long before the calendar turns and kids will once again be preparing to return to class.

The Northeast Missouri Community Action Agency with the aid of numerous local sponsors will make this transition a little easier. Once again the NMCAA will host a Back to School Fair.

The event is scheduled for Friday, August 3rd at the Scotland County R-I elementary school gym

“It is an excellent family learning experience while receiving your necessary school supplies,” said organizer Beverly Talbert. “This is supported by our county organizations and merchants. They have been a fantastic support for many years.”

The NMCAA Outreach Office has applications available for the Back to School Fair. Talbert asked parents to please pre-register children as soon as possible so the necessary school supplies may be purchased. School supplies are purchased for each grade from the teachers’ lists for all students in Memphis and Gorin schools.

The event is open to all students living in Scotland County.

“The doors will be open at 1:00 p.m. for your family to begin the great excursion through our wonderland of booths for your enjoyable learning experience,” Talbert stated. “We have many drawings available sponsored by your local community.”

The top prizes, two $50 gift certificates, are awarded to those that pre-register and attend the fair. Last year each student received an extra prize to go with the school supplies.
