Iowa Woman Hurt In Crash On Highway 15

A Keosauqua, IA, woman suffered minor injuries in a crash in Scotland County at 8:35 p.m. on July 20th. The accident occurred on Highway 15, 10 miles north of Memphis.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Michelle L. Schmitter, 21, was northbound in a 1998 Chevrolet Blazer. She attempted to pass a 2004 John Deere tractor being driven by Nolan O. Good, 23. The tractor was preparing to make a left hand turn into a private drive at the time, and the Blazer struck the tractor in the front, left axle. Schmitter’s vehicle ran off the left side of the roadway, and rolled once as it crossed the drive before coming to rest on its wheels in the ditch.

Schmitter was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash. She was transported by Scotland County Ambulance to Scotland County Memorial Hospital in Memphis for treatment of minor injuries.

Good was not injured in the crash. The tractor sustained moderate damage to the axle while the Blazer was totaled.
