Probation Home Visit Results In Drug Arrests

Two area individuals are facing drug charges following a routine probation/parole home visit performed by the Scotland County Sheriff’s Department last week.

At 1:20 p.m. on July 25th, the sheriff’s department performed the visit at a Memphis resident.

Aaron B. Camp, 23, of Memphis and Shantel W. Wilbert, 25, of Fort Madison, IA, were taken into custody at the residence after they were determined to be in possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine as well as drug paraphernalia.

Camp was charged with possession of a controlled substance (meth), a class C felony, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, a class D felony. He is being held without bond on a probation violation warrant.

Wilbert faces similar charges as well as unlawful use of drug paraphernalia related to marijuana, a class A misdemeanor. She was also ticketed for driving without a valid license and for displaying license plates belonging to another vehicle.

Camp is being held in the Adair County Detention Center while Wilbert is being held in the Clark County Detention Center on a $25,000 cash only bond.

The sheriff’s department was assisted by the Memphis Police Department K-9 unit and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
