Local Chapter To Host NWTF Sporting Clays Tournament

The Lake Show Me Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) will host its inaugural Wheelin’ Sportsmen Clays Tournament on Sunday, September 9 at the Doug Byrn farm near Downing.

Registration for the event begins at 1:00 p.m. with participants signing up to take part in fun shoots, quail walk, Annie Oakley and much more.

The event will feature the chapter’s trap machine purchased with funds raised at the annual NWTF banquet held in Memphis.

The event is free to individuals with disabilities. The proceeds from the sporting clays tournament will benefit the NWTF Wheelin’ Sportsmen program, a national effort to provide people with disabilities the opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities, such as shooting, hunting, fishing and much more.

The Doug Byrn farm is located on Route D. From Memphis take Highway 15 south to Route D. Travel west on Route D approximately 8 miles. The Byrn farm is located just east of the county line on the south side of Route D.

For more information on the event contact Tom Coffrin at (660) 465-2443 or Mike Allen (660) 323-5531.
