Homecoming Guests Will Travel ‘Through the Generations’

Homecoming brings past graduates back to their high school. Some of those visitors this week at Scotland County R-I High School may have felt like they didn’t miss a beat, that is if they picked the right day for a blast from the past.

Scotland County R-I students celebrate throughout the week following the theme “Through the Generations – Pick a Decade.” Monday saw students decked out in 1950’s attire. Tuesday took the students back to the 60’s with more modern wear showing up on Wednesday (70’s) and Thursday (80’s).

Some of the 80s attire may still be present when the community gathers at SCR-I High School following the completion of the October 4th junior high football game versus Putnam County. The school will host a homecoming pep rally and bonfire after the game.

Tiger pride will be the theme on Friday as the students gear up for the parade, scheduled for 2:15 p.m. on the Memphis square. Ann Luther will be the grand marshal for the event.

The SCR-I football team will take the field at 7:00 p.m. to host undefeated Clark County.

The 2007 Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at half time of the event at which time the parade float winners will also be announced.

Following the game a homecoming dance will be held in the elementary school gym for current SCR-I high school students and their dates.
