HAZEL MAY GOUCHER

Hazel May Goucher, 82 of Edina, Missouri, passed away January 22, 2007 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

She was born August 13, 1924 in Adair County, Missouri the daughter of Gerald Dean and Margaret Esther (Moyer) Johnson.

On March 19, 1950 in Fulton County, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Marvin L. (Pat) Goucher.

Surviving are her husband Marvin L. (Pat) Goucher of Edina, Missouri, six sons: Melvin Paris and wife Charlotte of Loves Park, Illinois, Kenny Douglas and wife Mitzie of Des Moines, Iowa, Ronnie Douglas and wife Linda of Kirksville, Missouri, Norman Goucher and wife Marsha of Memphis, Missouri, Tim Goucher and wife Marlene of Novinger, Missouri, and Darrell Goucher of Edina, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Brent Paris, Dianna Anderson, Connie Mendenhall, Lisa K. Bunch, Jared Douglas, Patrick Goucher, Jennifer Wheeler, Tina Mason, Sharon Moring, Renee Schrage and Kristi Whitt; 23 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Ellis Johnson, Morris Johnson, and Emery Johnson; seven sisters, Helen Lorence, Inis Ziegler, Marjorie White, Melva Combs, Toni Bragg, Fae Arnold and Nellie Weiser, a son, Terry Laverne Goucher and a grandson, Kyle Peterson.

Hazel was raised in the Pure Air community in Adair County where she received her education in the Golden Rule rural school. Following their marriage, Hazel and Pat lived in Kirksville for a short time before moving to Edina to make their home. She was known for her generosity and sense of humor. Hazel enjoyed Cardinals baseball, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and many friends.

Memorial services were held January 27, 2007 at the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, Missouri with Pastor Barb Hagerla officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Knox County Nutrition Site at Edina in memory of Hazel M. Goucher. Memorials may be left at or mailed to the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO 63537.
