LEO K. DRAKE, JR.

Leo K. Drake, Jr., U.S. Navy retired Chief Petty Officer passed away on January 26, 2007 in Memphis, TN. The son of Leo K. Drake and Mary M. (Clark) Drake he was born on January 4, 1925, in Scotland County, MO.

He was preceded in death by his father and mother; brother-in-law, Robert C. Schlotter; and grandson, Marshall B. Drake.

Leo and Joan Myers were united in marriage on September 21, 1947 in Memphis, MO Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years; daughter, Jane Harris, sons, Kenny and Michael, all of Memphis, TN; his sister, Marilyn J. Schlotter of Keosauqua, IA; daughter-in-law, Patricia Drake, Memphis, TN; one grandson and one granddaughter; two nieces and brother-in-law, Gordon Myers of Harrison, AR.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on January 13, 1942 and retired on May 6, 1968 with 24 years of Naval service. A veteran of World War II, he was member of Masonic Lodge #16, Memphis, MO, Scottish Rite and Morocco Shrine Temple, Jacksonville, FL, VFW, Lake Wales, FL, and Navy Fleet Reserve Association, Washington, D.C.

Cremation and burial were at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, Memphis, TN. Military honors were provided by the Naval Station, Millington, TN.
