ANNA MAE BLOOMFIELD
(4/12/1908 – 3/5/2007)



Anna Mae Bloomfield, 98, of Memphis, MO, passed away March 5, 2007 at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO.

She was born on April 12, 1908, in Scotland County, MO, the daughter of Jacob and Emma Gundy.

On September 24, 1938, she married Glenn G. Bloomfield in Papillion, NE and to this union two children were born.

Anna Mae attended grade school at Friendship, graduated from Memphis High School. She taught for a short time at Friendship after graduating from high school and then went on to a business college in Ft. Madison, IA. She worked for Schaffer Pen Company in Ft. Madison, IA, Henry Fields Nursery in Shenandoah, IA, and Swift Dairy Company in Clarinda, IA.

She and Glen moved to Scotland County to the farm in 1943. Anna Mae was a member of the Richland Baptist Church. Her family was the focus of her life. She was known for her angel food cakes with chocolate icing.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Glenn, June 2, 1976; one brother, Paul Gundy; and one sister, LaVerne Alexander.

She is survived by her son, Larry Bloomfield and wife, Lerea of Arbela, MO; her daughter, Christine McReynolds of Richmond Heights, MO; four grandchildren, Laura Bloomfield of Cedar Rapids, IA, Lisa Walden and her husband, Dyke of O’Fallon, MO, Heather McReynolds of Chalfont, PA, and Ryan McReynolds of Eugene, OR; two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Elizabeth Walden; four nieces, one nephew, Helen Lacy and numerous other relatives.

The family has suggested memorials to the Friendship Cemetery Association, and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Funeral services were held on March 9, 2007, at the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO, with Bro. Mike Wilson officiating.

Pallbearers were Dyke Walden, Phil Hicks, Clifton Stott, Larry Riney, Leland Hyde, and Roy Hyde. Interment was in the Friendship Cemetery, in rural Scotland County, MO.

Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
