ANITA JANE (GINGERICH) POE HOPKINS
(10/27/1931 3/27/2007)



Anita Jane (Gingerich) Poe Hopkins, daughter of Frank and Gladys (Emmerson) Gingerich, was born October 27, 1931 in Kirksville, MO. She departed this life on March 27, 2007 at her home in Lake Ozark, MO, at the age of 75 years and 5 months.

On February 21, 1950 in Ottumwa, IA, she was united in marriage to Robert E. Poe and to this union two children were born, Tara and Robin. On June 1, 1989, she was united in marriage to Neilan David Hopkins in Mojave Desert, Lake Havasu City, AZ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Robert E. Poe in August 1987 and Neilan David Hopkins in January 2005; stepmother, LaVelle Gingerich and stepbrother-in-law, Steve Williams.

Jane is survived by her daughters, Tara Maurita Rouse and husband, Ronnie of Camdenton, MO and Robin Wright of Lake Ozark, MO; four grandchildren, Tacy Meighan, Tanya Newberry, Aaron Rouse, Meghan England; four great-grandchildren, Gavin Meighan, Blake Meighan, Britain Newberry, and Alyssa Newberry; three sisters, Mary Alice Smyser and husband, Manley of Glenwood, MO, Floy Ann White and husband, Patrick of Keswick, IA and Barbara Jean Williams and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was a successful businesswomen and had a great appreciation and love for art. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Jane was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt and was a caring neighbor, and friend. The memories she created for her family and friends will always be cherished.

Memorial services were held April 1, 2007, at the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, MO, with Sonny Smyser officiating. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Relay For life. The body was cremated and interred at the Downing City Cemetery in Downing, MO, following the Memorial Service. Arrangements were under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, MO.
