April 5, 2007

(12/21/1914 – 2/8/2007)

Ruth Priest, 92, died on February 8th, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Colorado Springs.

Born Ruth Meinhardt on December 21st 1914 in Argyle, Iowa to Hugh and Amanda Wahrer Meinhardt, she was proceeded in death by her brother Edward, sister Carleen, husband John, and daughter Marjorie.

Ruth will be remembered for her love of the Lord, and her family. She was known for her great cooking and for her love of fishing. She always spit on the worm for luck and always caught the biggest fish. Many a time we kids would sit on the pond bank with gram and fish the day away. She was always there with a kind word and a gentle hand. She will be greatly missed by all.

Left to celebrate her life are her daughter Nell Sue Justen and her husband Jim. Her 10 grandchildren, (including from this area) Kirk (Wendy) Matlock, Todd (Heather) Matlock, Holli (Joe) Johnson, Scott (Victoria) Matlock plus 23 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grand-children.

A graveside service will be held by the family on July 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. where her cremated remains will be laid to rest with her husband John G. Priest at the Dover Cemetery. The family is requesting no flowers. Donations in Ruth’s memory may be made to the Dover Cemetery Fund.
