JAMES HOWARD NEAGLE
(8/15/1942 – 5/11/2007)



James Howard Neagle, 64, of Glenwood, MO, passed away at his home on May 11, 2007.

The son of Darrel Emerson and Martha Isabelle (Dickerson) Neagle, he was born on August 15, 1942, in Kirksville, MO.

He was a graduate of the Lancaster High School in 1960 and graduated from Kirksville State Teachers College in Kirksville, MO, in 1965.

Following graduation from college, “Jim” was employed with the MFA plant in LaBelle, MO as the manager of that exchange. He then transferred to the Lancaster, MO plant and was employed as the manager of their bulk plant and later transferred to the fuel section of that plant. He retired from this position in 2002. At the time of his death, he had been employed as a school bus driver for Toney’s Bus Company for approximately four years.

On July 21, 1971, in Glenwood, MO, he was united in marriage to Carol Jo Lonis, who survives.

Also surviving besides his wife are his son, C. Patrick Neagle of Glenwood, MO; one brother, Charles Neagle and wife, Peggy of Lancaster, MO; one nephew, Jordan Neagle of Lancaster, MO; his mother and father-in-law, Glen and Juanita Lonis of Glenwood, MO; several cousins and other family members.

“Jim” is preceded in death by his parents.

“Jim” was member of several organizations which included the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #427, Glenwood, MO, Rural Fire Chief of Glenwood, MO, Glenwood Mayor, Shrine Club, Jaycees and the Republican Party.

Graveside services were held on May 14, 2007, at the St. John’s Cemetery in Livonia, MO, with Sonny Smyser, pastor of the Lancaster United Methodist Church, Lancaster, MO officiating. Masonic Services were conducted by the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #427, May 13, 2007, at Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, MO. Memorials have been established for St. John’s Cemetery in Livonia, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster.
