SHIRLEY KEALEN
(4/16/1936 – 6/2/2007)



Shirley Kealen died June 2, 2007 at the Scotland County Care Center, where she had been a resident for a short time. She was 71 years old.

Shirley was born on April 16,1936. She was the only child of W.O. Richardson and Margaret M Richardson. She was raised in Mendon, IL, where she graduated from Unity High in 1953. She then married Author J. Monetti. From that union four children were conceived, Mary Margaret, Marilyn Kay, Anthony James and Timothy Andrew.

In 1965 she was remarried to Robert F. Kealen, they then moved to Quincy, IL, and to this union there was one child conceived, Pamela Grace.

Shirley was employed by Motorola in Quincy until it’s closing and then went to work at St. Mary’s Hospital until retiring.

She was member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Quincy.

Shirley enjoyed fishing, bowling, ceramics and raising roses.

She is survived by four children, Mary M. Droege of Memphis, MO; Marilyn Sevier and her husband Terry of Memphis, MO; Timothy Monetti and his wife Margie of Quincy, IL; and Pamela Kealen Data of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her husband Robert F. Kealen, a son Anthony J. Monetti and a great-grandson Nathan Todd Griffith.

Services will be held on Thursday June 7th at the Duker and Huagh Funeral Home in Quincy, IL, with visitation from 11:00 – noon. Funeral services will be held directly after. Burial will be in the Mendon Cemetery, in Mendon, IL.
