John Eric Kish, 48, of Peoria, IL, passed away June 1, 2007.

Eric Kish is lovingly remembered as a talented artist, an excellent cook and most of all a beloved son, brother, father, cousin and friend.

He was an exceptionally skilled professional painter and true artisan, specializing in murals, sculpture and faux finishes.

After early schooling in Peoria, Eric attended the Art Institute of Chicago where he honed his passion for painting, drawing and sculpting. He lived and worked in Chicago for a number of years, later moving to Galesburg, Illinois, where he owned an antique shop.

Eric Kish was preceded in death by his father Joseph Kish, his grandparents, and recently, his younger brother Gabe Kish. He is survived by his 14-year-old daughter Mia Kish of Galesburg, Illinois; his mother Bonita Kish of Memphis, Missouri, his sister Gretchen (Kish) Serrano and her husband Joe of Chicago, Illinois; and two brothers: Joe Kish of Chicago, Illinois, and Julian (Christopher) Kish of St. Petersburg, Florida; two nephews: Phoenix Kish of St. Petersburg, and Enzo Serrano of Chicago, Illinois; and one niece, Gia Serrano of Chicago, Illinois.

Eric will be sadly missed. He was a unique person with a good heart. He loved his family, especially his daughter Mia.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 9 in Peoria at Parkview Cemetery at 1 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
