JILLYNDA SUE HURLEY
(5/6/1964 - 7/3/2007)



Jillynda Sue Hurley, 43, of Memphis, Missouri died Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at her home in Memphis.

She was born May 6, 1964 at Kirksville, Missouri to Dewey John Fry, Jr. and Mary Louise Boone Fry.

Jillynda attended Scotland County R-I Schools and was a member of the graduating class of 1982. She attended Indian Hills Community College at Ottumwa, Iowa and graduated with a diploma in medical transcription in 1993. She also worked as a sales clerk at the Places store in Memphis for several years. She attended the Memphis Pentecostal Church.

Jillynda was united in marriage to Richard Eugene Hurley on May 12, 2000, at Kirksville, Missouri. Following their marriage, they lived in the home in Memphis where Jillynda had lived her entire life.

Jillynda courageously battled cancer since she was eighteen months old. She enjoyed caring for grandchildren, camping, swimming, working with flowers and gardening. She loved animals and will be missed by her two dogs, Ladybelle and Rowdy and her cat, Wiggles.

She is survived by her husband, Richard, of Memphis; a son, Donald Hurley, of Glenwood, Missouri; two daughters: Jill Marie Wolfe and her husband, Tye, of Springfield, Missouri and Jennifer McKinney and her husband, Daniel, of Memphis, Missouri and eight grandchildren; Jaxom, Alexis and Megan Wolfe, Adam Marino and Shane, Cory and Christopher McKinney. Also surviving is her mother-in-law, Josephine Mathes of Queen City, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Glenn Laverne Hurley of Lincoln, Nebraska; Joey Hurley and his wife, Billie, of Downing, Missouri and James Hurley and Diane of Center, Missouri and sisters-in-law: Glennda Gates and her husband, Larry, of Livonia, Missouri; Shirley Anders and her husband, Larry, of Glenwood, Missouri; Kimberly Rojak and her husband, Phil, of Springfield, Missouri; Sue Hurley of Centerville, Iowa and Kimberly L. Hurley of Livonia, Missouri and her brother, Jerry Fry and his wife, Michelle, of Downing, Missouri. Other survivors include three aunts; Carol Chadwick of Montrose, Iowa, Mary Belle Moffett of Memphis, Missouri, and Virginia Capps of Livonia, Missouri; three uncles; Jerry Boone and his wife, Peggy, of Joaquin, Texas, Bob Hurley and his wife, Beverly, of Livonia, Missouri, Paul Lucas and his wife, Mildred, of Novinger, Missouri and a special niece, Jillynda Sprague and her husband, Cory and great niece, Jordon Sprague, of Moberly, Missouri and many other nieces and nephews.

Jillynda was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Robin Elaine Davis; a brother, Jody Ray Fry; a step-son, Christopher Hurley; brothers- in-law; Arthur Hurley and Roger Hurley, two nephews; Clinton Hurley and Arthur Dwayne Hurley and a sister-in-law, Krystal Hurley.

As an expression of sympathy, a memorial may be given to Jillynda’s family and may be left at or mailed to Memphis Funeral Home, 378 South Market Street, Memphis, Missouri 63555.

Funeral services were held July 6, at the funeral home with Reverend June Cooper officiating.

Burial followed in the Hurley Cemetery in rural Putnam County, Missouri. Casket bearers were Randy Bliefert, Joey Hurley, Glenn Lavern Hurley, James Hurley, Dan McKinney and Donald Hurley. Bruce Gray and Bill Marsh served as honorary bearers.
