William David Ferris, 74, of Memphis, MO, passed away on July 25, 2007, at the Scotland County Memorial Hospital, Memphis, MO.

William was born June 3, 1933 in Scotland County, MO, the son of Merritt and Hettie Reed Ferris.

He graduated in 1952 from Memphis High School.

After graduation he moved to Albuquerque, NM, where he worked moving trailer houses, He moved to Quincy, IL, working for Sunbeam Bread Company. William moved to Holbrook, AZ, where he hauled gas. Then in the 80ís he moved to Clarence, MO, where he owned and operated Billís Liquor Store. After retirement Bill moved to Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donald, Wendell and Jim; and one sister, Beverly Ann.

Surviving are two sisters, Jean Walker and her husband, Joe Tom of Memphis, MO, and Eunice Carroll of Harrisville, MO, and one aunt, Bernice Reed of Memphis, MO; several nieces and nephews, and good friends, Bud and Jean Allen, and Jim and Lois Allen, all of Albuquerque, NM.

The family has suggested memorials to Richland Cemetery, Scotland County Cancer Fund or Scotland County Home Health, and may be left at or mailed to the Payne Funeral Chapel, 202 E. Madison, Memphis, MO 63555.

Mr. Ferris wishes were to be cremated. Arrangements were handled by the Payne Funeral Chapel, Memphis, MO.
