DAVID SHOUSH
(8/22/1954 – 7/31/2007)



David Shoush, 52, of Kirksville, MO, passed away July 31, 2007, at his home.

The son of Marion Glasgow “Buddy” and Margie Nell (Schwada) Shoush, he was born August 22, 1954 in Macon, MO.

On September 18, 1982 in Kirksville, MO, David was united in marriage to Patricia Lynn March.

David is survived by his wife, Pat; two sons, Matthew David Shoush of Branson, MO and Michael Patrick Shoush of the home; his mother, Margie N. Shoush of Kansas City, MO, formerly of Macon, MO; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Diane and Bob Long of Kansas City, MO and Donna and Shawn Hartung of Lee’s Summit, MO; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Almeda March of Greentop, MO; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Louise and David Reed of Kirksville, MO; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father on November 19, 1999.

David was raised in Macon, MO and was a graduate from Macon High School with the class of 1972. He then attended Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, graduating in 1976 with a degree in Industrial Art. While living in Macon, David worked for Donet Main for his construction business. After graduating from college He went to work at Northeast Missouri Regional Planning where he was employed 30 years and in 1997 became executive director.

David was very active in the KBSA (Kirksville Baseball/Softball Association) for a number of years, serving as president and also as commissioner of different leagues. This spring, David was inducted into the KBSA Hall of Fame. His love of family and all sports allowed him to coach his son’s baseball and basketball games and attend their other sporting events. David will long be remembered by the sports community, his family and many friends.

Funeral services were held August 3, 2007, at the First United Methodist Church in Kirksville, with Reverend Jim Robinson officiating. Music selections were played during his service and organ music was provided by Dianthe Cable. Interment was at the Willmathsville Cemetery in Willmathsville. Pallbearers were Mark Martin, Robert King, Mark Eagen, Pat Williams, Terry Smith and David Swisher. Honorary bearers were Dr. Robert Sparks, Jeff Nelson, Eddie Schmitz, Ron Harrison, J.C. Roberts, Rick Buck, and Tony Mundahl.

A Masonic service was held by the Greentop Masonic Lodge 635.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the David Shoush Memorial Fund for further education of his sons. Memorials may be left at the First United Methodist Church or at Travis-Noe Funeral Home, P.O. 306, Kirksville, MO 63501.
