Anthony P. ‘Tony’ McCarthy, 54, died suddenly July 22, 2007 at his home in St. Louis, Missouri.

He is survived by his wife Susan Spehr McCarthy of St. Louis; three sons Ryan, Kevin and Cory; two brothers Davey McCarthy and Mike McCarthy both of Ottowa, Canada; one sister Diane Gregoire of Ottawa, Canada.

He was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Verna McCarthy; a brother-in-law, and one uncle.

Tony was born in Gatineau, Quebec on Sept. 27, 1952. He played semi-pro Hockey for Johnstown Jets in the 1970’s, and was a member of Teamsters Local 682.

Tony was an avid hunter and fisherman and had been traveling to Scotland County for nearly 20 years to hunt with the Jim Woods family of Arbela. He enjoyed gardening, refinishing furniture and finding treasures at garage sales.

Services were held August 11, 2007 at the Church of the Little Flower with a funeral mass following.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
