Stuart Miller McDermott, 82, of Tempe, AZ, died September 19, 2007, at his home in Tempe.

He was born July 2, 1925, at Kansas City, MO, to Donald Stuart and Marian Virginia Kinney McDermott.

He completed one year of Junior College at Jefferson City, MO. Stuart was a meteorologist at the U.S. Weather Bureau in Washington, DC and resided in Maryland. He retired in 1991 and moved to Arizona. Stuart continued to be interested in the weather in retirement. He was a very sweet and gentle man and very religious.

Stuart is survived by a sister, Marianne McDermott of Falls Church, VA and a brother, William McDermott of Chico, CA; four half-brothers, Marc McDermott, Michael McDermott, Brian McDermott and a half-sister, Jeanette McDermott. Also surviving are three first cousins, Joan Kinney Leslie, Barbara Kinney Burneson, and Frances Kinney Culver.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Alan McDermott.

Graveside services were held September 24, 2007 with Rev. Charles McCracken officiating. Music was sung. Burial was beside his mother in the Memphis Cemetery. Memphis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
