Robert William Anderson, 91, of rural Queen City, MO, passed away on September 27, 2007, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, MO, where he had been a resident since April 24, 2007.

The son of Loring Henry and Cora Helen (Snowbarger) Anderson, he was born March 10, 1916 in rural Queen City.

Survivors include his nieces and nephews including Joel Kazy of Warrensburg, MO, Wayne Anderson of Glenwood, MO, Jerry Anderson of Downing, MO, Terry Anderson of Downing, MO, Karen Sasse of Tucson, AZ, Beverly Stevenson of North Liberty, IA, Kay Anderson of Kansas and Virginia Simerl of Memphis, MO; two sisters-in-law, Betty Anderson of Downing, MO and Wilma Anderson of Memphis, MO; one brother-in-law, Theodore Kazy of Tucson, AZ; and numerous cousins, great-nieces and nephews.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Anna Louise Anderson and Marjorie Belle Kazy; three brothers, Max C. Anderson, Ralph Anderson; and one brother in infancy; and one nephew, Ralph Junior Anderson.

Robert served in the Army during World War II, where he saw action in France and Germany and was a member of the VFW. He was also a past president of the Germania Cemetery Board. Except for his years in the army, Robert spent his entire life on his family’s farm east of Queen City, MO, where he raised cattle and sheep.

Funeral services were held October 2, 2007, at Norman Funeral Home in Downing, with Robert Harrison, pastor of the Lancaster Baptist Church of Lancaster, MO, officiating. Organ selections were provided by Betty Anderson. Pallbearers were Terry Jerry, and David Anderson, Joel Kazy, Fred Lanham and Terry Wheeler. Memorials have been established for the Schuyler County Nutrition Site or Germania Cemetery. Burial was in the Germania Cemetery with military rites by the Schuyler County VFW Post #5898. Arrangements are under the direction of the Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster and Downing, MO.
