BETTY JUNE FLETCHER
(8/20/1929 - 9/4/2007)



Betty June Fletcher, 78, of Coatsville, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at the Scotland County Care Center in Memphis, Missouri.

Betty was born on August 20, 1929 in Downing, Missouri, the daughter of Fred Victor and Opal Simerl Rood.

Betty moved to Orange County, California then to Independence, California, with her parents, at the age of 7 years. She attended grade school and later graduated from the Owens Valley High School in Independence, California.

She worked at the Department of Water and Power as a secretary-supervisor before retiring as a life member in 1995. Betty then returned to the area before purchasing a farm near Coatsville, Missouri to be close to her family.

Betty was a member of the I.O.O.F. Columbia Rebekah Lodge #202 of Bishop, California.

She is survived by her son, Frederick Mankins and his significant other, Judy Funk and her son, Casey of Coatsville, Missouri, a sister, Bonnie and her husband Lou Mannatt of Independence, California, a grandson, Dale Eugene and his wife Amy Mankins of Lancaster, Missouri, four great grandchildren, and one step-great granddaughter.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband D.E. Mankins and her second husband, Robert Fletcher.

Memorial Service was held September 22, 2007 at the United Methodist Church of Lancaster, Missouri, with Reverend Sonny Smyser officiating.

A Rebekah Service was held during the Memorial Service by Ariel Rebekah Lodge #752 of Downing, Missouri.

Burial was in the Coffey Cemetery south of Downing, Missouri.

A memorial in memory of Betty Fletcher may be left to the United Methodist Church of Lancaster, Missouri. A memorial may be left at or mailed to Doss Funeral Home, 208 N. Fourth, Edina, Missouri, 63537.
